Do impact windows have to be approved for hurricane code?

Miami-Dade and Broward counties are the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) under the Florida Building Code. In the HVHZ, products must carry an approval for the zone, such as a Miami-Dade County Notice of Acceptance (NOA).

Do you install impact glass in condos?

Yes. We install impact windows and sliding doors in homes, condos and commercial buildings, and we handle HOA approval.

Do you pull the permits?

Yes. We take care of measurements, HOA approval, engineering and the city or county permit, and we meet the building inspector with you at the final inspection.

What affects the price of impact windows?

The number and size of the openings, the style of window or door, the glass and frame options, and the engineering the permit requires.

Do I still need shutters with impact windows?

Impact windows and doors are tested to resist wind-borne debris, which is why the code accepts them as opening protection in place of shutters.

Who does the work?
